Review: 12 Years a Slave

By the end of watching this film, it was clear to me that I had experienced something altogether different from what I had expected. It is not a ‘film you must see’ in a history textbook way, rather it is a film that deserves to be experienced as a piece of theatre, a work of art, an exercise in endurance.
