Hana Kelly previews Drowners’ upcoming event at the Night and Day cafe

Drowners are out of the water and coming back to England. The Brooklyn based band are making their return to this isle after their successful stint supporting Cage the Elephant on their European tour. Now they’re  kicking off their headlining UK tour in Manchester’s own Night and Day café.

Drowners’ latest album, released in June of this year, On Desire, showcases the band’s ever-evolving sound. The tracks are fast paced, rounded and more instrumental than their previous indie pop self-titled album. Despite this, the band have not abandoned the witty and whimsical lyrics that have made them great in the past. With Night and Day being the first stop on their tour, this promises to be an unmissable opportunity to catch the four-piece at their most energetic.

Night and Day café as a venue is simply an added bonus; the perfect café in the Northern Quarter, worth visiting just for the atmosphere, variety of drinks and selection of live music has taken a step by hosting, what is sure to be, a great night out.

Drowners are playing Night and Day café on Tuesday 11th of October at 8pm, tickets are £8.
