Travers (Emma Thompson), the prickly author of “Mary Poppins,”  as he tries to secure the rights to her book and fulfill a promise he made to his daughters in Disney’s “Saving Mr. Banks,” releasing in U.S. theaters limited on December 13, 2013 and wide on December 20, 2013.
