Linkin Park’s fourth studio album is, on the face of it, a typical Linkin Park album. Is there pointless screaming? Yes, ‘Blackout’ is full of it. Pointless swearing? Oh yes: “Are you fucking listening?” is my personal favourite line from the album, also from ‘Blackout’. Is there a tenuous political theme running throughout? Allegedly: of the album’s fifteen tracks at least five are seemingly random noise, ranging from gunshots to people ranting on random subjects.
