He cited the ongoing \u201ccost of living crisis \u2026 and [rising] Foodbank use\u201d as the main reason for his disapproval of the demonstration.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I don\u2019t care the rights and wrongs of the actual issue\u2026 this is criminal damage and in a cost of living crisis where food poverty and Foodbank use is rising, it\u2019s also utterly sickening. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/LSB5YlW0KY\" target=\"_blank\">pic.twitter.com\/LSB5YlW0KY<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Andrew Gwynne MP (@GwynneMP) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GwynneMP\/status\/1581358905502076928?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">October 15, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The MP was <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/wogan_jones\/status\/1581607854452404224?s=61&amp;t=z7vCPY85jOCxWbuxl2To6Q\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">accused<\/a> by some of \u201cvirtue signalling to the \u2018respectable middle class\u2019\u201d rather than taking the \u201cradical\u201d approach expected of a Labour MP.<\/p>\n<p>Aside from Manchester, these demonstrations took place in Norwich, London, and Edinburgh. The organisers declared that their aim was to shock people into thinking about their consumption of animal products, due to the animal rights issues and environmental impact consuming products of animal origin have.<\/p>\n<p>Protestors were seen holding up signs in the video containing slogans like \u201cPlant-based Future\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.plantbasedfuture.animalrebellion.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Animal Rebellion<\/a> was founded in 2019 in London by 12 people.
