After three very trying years for the entertainment industry, the world’s biggest 1920s experience is back – more immersive and roaring than ever before!

After three sold-out world tours (Mad Mansion, Spectacle Extraordinaire, and Cabaret Noir), Party Like Gatsby is back with a brand-new show: Soirée Royale. The international tour will fly into the UK next month, for the first time in three years! The event will visit London and Manchester over consecutive nights, before visiting Glasgow a week later. I was lucky enough to catch Party Like Gatsby the last time it was in Manchester, and I cannot wait to return.

At Party Like Gatsby, you will encounter marvellous performers and peculiar characters from J. Gatsby’s inner circle; enjoy a breathtaking 3-stage show of burlesque, live music, and circus acts; and party to modern classics with a Gatsby twist ‘til the sun rises!

Inspired by the movie The Great Gatsby (itself based on F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel of the same name), Party like Gatsby has been touring the world since 2013, the same year the film premiered. It began its life as a student party in Munich, soon evolving into a full-blown immersive experience and expanding to all corners of the world. In the decade since it premiered, Party Like Gatsby has transported more than 100,000 guests back to 1922.

Visiting 24 cities in 12 countries across Europe, North America and Oceania, Soirée Royale is set to be Party Like Gatsby‘s biggest tour yet!

Meet the cast

Soirée Royale features an incredible cast of acrobats, dancers, live musicians, and more. The cast is made up of both British and international artists. The British acts include Chastity Belt, Paul & Louise, Eliza DeLite, The Toons, The Satin Dollz, and Kay Page.

Chastity Belt, a regular on the London cabaret scene, will be whipping Gatsby’s guests into shape with a plethora of song, glittering costumes and the dirtiest jokes. Paul & Louise, Golden buzzer contestants on Slovakia’s Got Talent, are joining this year’s show with a high tempo and sensual roller skating act – get ready for some serious speed and high flying splits!

Voted one of UK’s top 20 burlesque performers by 21st Century Burlesque Magazine for 5 consecutive years, and with a brand-new act made specially for PLG, Eliza DeLite will be teasing the guests with vintage glamour and a little bit of mystery. The Toons, PLG’s resident band, is ready to get everyone on the dance floor with modern hits and classics tailored to the Gatsby sound, inspired by Postmodern Jukebox.

The Satin Dollz have been doing the charleston on PLG’s stages across Europe and North America since 2017. An astounding variety of vintage dance styles, tap, and some serious girl power awaits. Towering high above the audience, or just lounging in our giant champagne glass, Kay Page will be immersing guests into the Gatsby universe from the night’s start to finish.

Overseas talent includes Sheyen (Italy), Bart Hoving (Netherlands), The Flying Willy (Belgium), and The Swingbot (France).

Guinness World Record holder Sheyen is ready to display one of the absolute rarest and most thrilling circus acts in the world. Get ready to hold your breath followed by a gasp of excitement when she skilfully hits targets using only her feet!

Get ready to experience juggling like you’ve never seen it before when Bart Hoving rejoins the PLG cast with his humorous, daring, and highly impressive juggle and balancing skills.

The Flying Willy will be greeting and entertaining guests from the moment they step through J. Gatsby’s doors – better watch out, or you might just find yourself wrapped into some 1920s scandal.

Unfortunately, Chinese acrobatic duo Duo Yingling will no longer be appearing; an equally impressive British duo will be taking their place.

Catering to all your charleston needs, The Swing Bot will play the best swing classics to get the party started and electro-swing bangers to ensure the party does not end until the sun rises.

Party Like Gatsby: Soirée Royale will play at Clapham Grand (London) on February 17, O2 Ritz (Manchester) on February 18, and The Usher Hall (Edinburgh) on February 25. It is currently touring the world until early July.

A 1920s dress code is required for entry. Please note that no jeans, sportswear, or t-shirts are allowed. You can find inspiration on Party Like Gatsby‘s Facebook and Instagram pages.

The show starts from the moment doors open, with performers interacting with you and your entourage. The stage show is approximately three-and-a-half hours long, and will typically start one hour after doors open. After the stage show, the event’s resident DJ will ensure that the party continues until sunrise!
